Intensity

The current incarnation of INTENSITY! has been playing together for two years, but the members have worked with each other independently and in side projects for many years. Some of them have been playing music together since high school back in the 70’s. Their experience with music and their familiarity with each other has given rise to what could be the most innovative music being produced by a local band.

They have no set song structure, no lyrics, and nothing is put in writing. They simply play what they feel, feeding off each other and the music each member produces. This unusual formula makes very cool music. It creates some problems too, such as never being able to reproduce music. People who go to see them live will never see the same show, or hear the same music twice. This is troublesome for some people who prefer a bit more structure in their music. Currently they have not put out a CD, but when they do they will not be able to reproduce the music on the CD live, since everything is improvised. This unique style is what makes INTENSITY! a truly innovative band. Their music is dynamic, changing with each performance. The members are really putting themselves and their emotions into the music, and it shows.

INTENSITY! hasn’t played very many gigs in the Quad Cities; they have been working intently on their music and repertoire with each other, sharpening reactions and musical skills before sharing their myriad talents with an audience. Most recently they played for the Gallery Hop in the District of Rock Island, and opened for My Scarlet Life at the Rock Island Brewing Company in early September. Their sound mixed very well with that of My Scarlet Life and both bands have expressed an interest in working together again.
